Scholarship Program

Through the Association’s scholarship program, graduate students are encouraged to enter the local government management field. These scholarships are endowed in the memory of Max Holland and Mitch Sizemore, long-time city managers and proponents of professional public administration. The Max Holland/Mitch Sizemore scholarships are designed to advance the educational opportunities of students interested in, or presently pursuing, a career in local government management and administration.

Since 1996, the Association has awarded over $28,000 to students who are interested in pursuing a career in local government management. Please see below for a complete list of all scholarship recipients.  Students actively enrolled in the Masters of Public Administration programs at the University of South Carolina, College of Charleston, and Clemson University are eligible to apply for one of the $1,250 scholarships. In addition to the monetary award, the scholarship recipients are invited to attend the Association’s winter meeting to be formally recognized and network with the association members.

The Scholarship announcements will be made in November 2015.
